Roller Coasters and Waiting Rooms
Chloe Begg is an artist based in Toronto/Tkaronto, working primarily in ceramics. Roller Coasters and Waiting Rooms was commissioned by the City of Toronto through their Public Art Mentorship program and was displayed in the Toronto Sculpture Garden for 6-months before moving to the Cambridge Sculpture Garden in 2026.
This installation draws upon the familiar “bead roller coaster” toy to explore the intersection of calm and movement within our lives. By drawing on memories of waiting rooms and the sense of motion that this toy naturally suggests, the sculpture is a reinterpretation on a larger scale that becomes a metaphor for life’s complex rhythms. More information on the installation can be found here.
